R. L. Collins’s Story:
3rd generation laid off Detroit auto worker. The future of a business I love dearly is in trouble. A way of life for generations is about to change in ways that instill fear in most and excitement in others. I've already lost the home and other assets I spent years working to attain. I understand that I hold some responsiblity for my fate. But I also understand that the decision of others determine my fate as well. Not a "Born AGAIN American" I've always been an American. A citizen of the USA.
Rafael L. Rodriguez Sr.’s Story:
This goverment should bail out "WE THE PEOPLE'first. Send a debit card with $25k limit,to every one who paid taxes the last 3 years. Then they can pay overdue mortgage payments, pay for college, medical expenses, storm proof their homes, pay up their cars or buy new cars with 25mpg in city, max.value $25k built in USA. Card to be use only in the USA. We use the money first then the banks can use it. Not allowed for gambling smoking, liquour, investment accounts, pay taxes.Banks use money after we do
Ranae’s Story:
I was diagnosed with cancer last year. I missed a lot of work and pay. Then my husband was injured at work and missed seven months pay. And now with the ecomony situation we are trying to get by day by day. Our most important thing is family and health. Wealth is not an issue to the God Loving family. Health and Love are.
Ray Pierce’s Story:
I am a carpet installer. Since 9/11 work has been scarce. We are getting paid the same or LESS than we did 10 years ago. Yet, supplies and GAS (Which prices should be controlled somehow) keep going up. I've worked 16 hours in the last 3 weeks. I feel that the main problem- Illegal Immigrants. They come in and lower their pay requirements. Also we have lost LOTS to outsourcing. Sending AMERICAN jobs out of the country to save a buck at the sacrifice of quality. Bring back Made in America!
richard lacourse’s Story:
I am a former marine viet nam vet. What happend to us when we came home should not happen ever again. We need to support our troops where they are. Be prud america we are the best there is.
Richard Price’s Story:
I live in a small town in Ohio and I live in the house that my grandfather built, he worked in the tool and die department for Rockwell and made many parts for the Mercury, Gemeni, Apollo, and Space Shuttle missions, also many aircraft including the B1 and Harrier. He built a magnifisent but modest home. There life savings were lost in bank stocks and the home must be sold so Grandma can stay at the retirement home. I'm a GM tech and my income has droped 25%. Time is up for the 4 of us. HOMELESS
Rick Wright’s Story:
A few years ago at the age of 49 I risked all to start a business of my own together with my wife. We did our research listened to experts paid all the fees and ventured forth with what savings and dreams we had. Economy started to get bad people not spending ,getting laid off from their jobs and we had to close and me going almost 9 months without being able to find another job we lost our home. Was able to secure a new job just to get laid off 6 months later. I still believe it will get better
Ricky LeBoeuf’s Story:
I was laid off back in 1998 because of NAFTA. I thought going back to school and getting a degree would improve me and my family's position. Now almost 11 years later, I make less now than I did in 1998 with a college degree. I was just a high school graduate back then working in a steel mill. Now I am an Account Manager working in outsourcing and make half of what I made in the mill. Now, in my early 50's, I am struggling to stay above the poverty line.
Rita Withrow’s Story:
55 Years old and now having to look for a job in this economy is a very scary thing no matter what your skills. I was injured in a car wreck and lost my job because I haven't been able to return to work. Last month my foot was amputated. I am quite scared to be looking for a job in the next few months. It could take years. It took me a year to find the last one.
robert dougherty’s Story:
My story started in 2006. For 15 years before, I had a job and doing well. Well enough to venture out and buy 4 rental properties. There after, my tenants stop paying rent and caused me to go into a bankruptcy. Since then, I lost all the rental properties, my house, credit, job and running out of unemployment and retirement monies. The last few years have only made me more of a believer in GOD, yes I said it! Also who you can trust and the "power of giving" to people less fortunate then me.

Robert Owens’s Story:
As a retiree we are having to cut back on everything, because we only get a certain amount and the taxes keep coming to bail everyone else out. We are worried about what the future brings for us and our children.
robertcasados’s Story:
We are paint contractors and we are unable to get jobs due to the economy and all the illegal aliens that are underbidding our bids. Our ecomomy is in bad shape due to all the illegal aliens feeding off our welfare system. They have all their children in our county hospitals at the expense of the american taxpayers. The economy will never improve until our government does something about these illegal aliens. Our prisions are full of illegal's and at american taxpayers expense again. Thanks
Roger Alexander’s Story:
I just lost my job because all products are outsourced to China. I had a heart attack, now I have Diabetes, Congestive Heart Failure, Arterial Defibrulation, Sleep apnea, a pacemaker, Asthma, and I am obese. Social security won't help, after three tries. VA turned me down because I made too much money last year. I cannot afford my $350.00 a month medicines, let alone food and gas for my truck. I am living out of my truck after being released from hospital for Deep Depression. No Light In Sight.
roger perez’s Story:
This is the signs of the time, please lets all get together and do something we are about to lose our home we are senior citizens. lets all pray and turn things around. thank you roger p
Ron Gerdes’s Story:
I am living on Social Security only. I burn one tank of gas every three weeks. Eating out only twice per month. My wife and I are closer to God now than we have been for over 45 years.
Ron Harding’s Story:
It is amazing some american people now want social justice and to live the american dream. --after all they have been voting in the politicians who sponsored deregulation that led to our financial crisis and are voting with their pocketbooks by shopping wal-mart and buying goods made in China and India to save a few dollars, instead of buying american and keeping your neighbors job here. I am not a Born-again American--I never forgot to be an American BE AMERICAN-BUY AMERICAN
Rosemary’s Story:
My husband is a mortgage broker (need I say more). I am a 30 yr unemployed banker due to an acquesition. We have done what our government advised...don't rely on SS for retiremnet. Problem is there has not been an income for these past 2 years and our 401 & IRA's have been hit hard. We're too young to retire (as if we had the money to!) and have learned we're too old to be hired at new employement. Our new president has promised higher ed. for all...Why when you can't get a job?
Russ’s Story:
I'm working for health care insurance only right now - no paycheck for nearly three months. I got into the environmental health & safety field to give back - to help protect our people and our land, our water... but no one is spending money on those things right now. Like me, they're trying to put food on the table. No matter how bad it gets, we still need to work for the future of our planet. Things WILL get better, as long as we're all pulling together.
Ruth’s Story:
